Danielle Coronado enters her fourth season at DMACC.
In her first season (2022) with the Bears, Coronado helped the Bears go 22-15 on the season 6-3 in conference play, where the Bears tied for 3rd in Conference and advanced to postseason play to finish second in the Region XI-B. The Bear were also recognized in the NJCAA DII Volleyball National Ranking Polls for 5 consecutive weeks (Week 4 at #20, Week 5 at #12, Week 6 at #16, Week 7 at #18 and Week 8 at #20)
Coronado helped produce numerous ICCAC Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week along with other multiple awards/accolades:

In her second season (2023) with the Bears, Coronado helped the Bears go 29-12 on the season and 10-1 in conference play, where the Bears were named Conference Champions and advanced to postseason play where they hosted as #1 seed. The Bears ended up finishing second in the Region XI Championship round. The Bear were also recognized in the NJCAA DII Volleyball National Ranking Polls for 6 consecutive weeks (Week 4 at #19, Week 5 at #20, Week 6 at #16, Week 7 at #12, Week 8 at #12 and Week 9 at #12). The Bears ended up receiving 1 of 4 at large bids which qualified them to the National Tournament hosted in Cedar Rapids, IA (11th Seed).

In her third season (2024) with the Bears, Coronado helped the Bears go 23-18 on the season and 8-3 in conference play, where the Bears advanced to postseason play. The Bears ended up finishing third in the Region XI Tournament. The Bear were also recognized in the NJCAA DII Volleyball National Ranking Polls for 6 consecutive weeks (Week 1 at #19, Week 9 at #25, and Week 10 at #24).

Before coming to DMACC, Coronado started her coaching career at Southeastern CC where in her first season she helped coach the Blackhawks to a 22-17 winning record and advance to regionals for the second straight year. She helped produce one Athlete of the Week, one All Tournament Team Region XI-B player, two All-Conference Honorable Mentions, two Second Team All-Conference Region XI-B, and one First Team All Region XI-B. Coronado helped produce one top conference defensive specialist, earning All-Region, All-Conference Honors.
In her second season (COVID Year) she helped coach the Blackhawks to a 7-15 record and helped advance the Blackhawks to regionals for the third straight year. Helped produce two Honorable Mention All-Conference players, one All-Tournament Team Region XI-B player, along with one Second Team All-Conference player and one Second Team All Region XI-B player. Coronado helped produce one top conference defensive specialist earning ICCAC Defensive Athletes of the Week along with National Player of the Week.
In her third season with the Blackhawks, she was named Interim Head Coach for SCC. Helping them to a 21-19 winning record and leading them to their fourth consecutive regional tournament appearance. This was the year of many firsts for the Blackhawks. Coronado helped lead the Blackhawks to a 3-1 record (only dropping to top ranked Heartland- DI) on opening weekend and this was the first time the Blackhawks had done so since 2013. This was also the first time SCC finished 5-4 in the ICCAC Conference and tied for 4th in conference, both had not been accomplished since 2013. It was also the first time SCC had beaten NIACC since 2018. Coronado helped produce one top conference defensive specialists, earning All-Region, All-Conference Honors along with producing two Second Team All Region XI-A players, one Second Team All-Conference player, one First Team All-Conference player, one All-Tournament Team Region XI-A player, and two Honorable Mention All-Conference players.
Originally from Mason City, Iowa, Coronado played for Iowa Central Community College while simultaneously coaching with the STORM Volleyball Club in the winter. During her time at Iowa Central she earned ICCAC Athlete of Week, earned Second Team All-Academic honors, is the only person in Iowa Central Volleyball history to be named Best Libero & be named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2016 Triton Invitational, earned Second Team All-Region XI-B honors, was a two-time Honorable Mention All-ICCAC selection, and was twice named Second Team Academic All-Region. She finished her sophomore season with 606 digs, 21 assists, and 33 service aces. Coronado had 32 matches with 10 or more digs and 18 matches with 15 or more digs. She had a career high, 35 digs, against North Platte Community College. Freshman season, she played in 15 matches for ICCC. She finished her first collegiate season with 62 digs for an average of 1.51 digs per set. Coronado had a season high, 19 digs, against Kirkwood Community College.
After receiving her Associates of Science Degree, she went on to compete at Ottawa University (KS, NAIA) where she helped the Braves win the 2017 KCAC Conference Championship and went on to nationals. She was also named to the Dean’s List and earned KCAC All-Scholar Athlete. She then transferred to compete at Briar Cliff University (IA, NAIA), where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management. She appeared in all 96 sets for the Chargers and tallied a team-high 310 digs, 44 assists and had 21 service aces. She notched four aces against Waldorf University and 22 digs against Presentation as season-highs. Upon graduation, in the spring semester, Coronado made the Dean’s List with a perfect 4.0. Also, while at Briar Cliff, she coached for Raider Power Volleyball Club, leading the team to a 6th place victory at State AAU in the gold bracket in Marshalltown, IA.
Coronado resides in Boone, IA with her fiancé, Demitrius, and are awaiting their first daughter this July.
