DMACC's Kayden Spencer named ICCAC Athlete of the Week
  • Spencer led DMACC to the team championship in the Bill Buxton Invitational
  • Spencer finished second in the individual competition
  • Spencer's times was 16 minutes, 54 seconds over the 4K course

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Kayden Spencer the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Women's Cross Country for the week of August 26 to Sept. 1.

 

Spencer, a sophomore from Boone, is the first member of the DMACC women's cross country team to be honored by the conference this fall.

 

Spencer led the Bears to the team championship in the Bill Buxton Invitational Aug. 30 at Indianola. She finished second in the individual competition, turning in a time of 16 minutes, 54 seconds over the 4K course. All six DMACC runners finished 16th or better as the Bears scored 21 points and finished 15 points ahead of runner-up Simpson College.

 

The DMACC women's cross country team will run in the Trent Smith Invitational Sept. 13 at Mason City.
