DMACC women's cross country team finishes sixth in Les Duke Invitational
  • Sophomore Natalia Segura leads DMACC with a 14th-place finish
  • Freshman Mkenzie Robinson earns a 26th-place finish
  • Bears will compete in the Grand View Invitational on September 24

 

The DMACC women's cross country team garnered a sixth-place finish in the Les Duke Invitational Sept. 10 at Grinnell.

 

DMACC, the only community college program competing for the team championship, came away with 164 points. Central College (CC) captured the team championship with 47 points and CC's Caroline McMartin won the individual competition with a time of 22 minutes, 53 seconds on the 6K course.

 

Sophomore Natalia Segura of Grimes led the Bears with a 14th-place finish. Her time was 24:37. Freshman Mkenzie Robinson of Marshalltown finished in 26th place with a time of 25:22.

 

Sophomore Natalie Martin of Norwalk and freshmen Madison Beaune of Jewell, Mercedes Beaune of Jewell and Jillian Prouty of Oelwein were 40th, 41st, 43rd and 45th respectively. Martin's time was 27:15, Madison Beaune toured the course in 27:19, Mercedes Beaune's time was 29:49 and Prouty posted a time of 30:16.

 

The DMACC women's cross country team will run in the Grand View Invitational Sept. 24 at Ankeny.
