Bears Fall to Second Ranked Indian Hills

 

The DMACC volleyball team fell to 20-14 for the season behind a 3-0 loss to Indian Hills Community College (IHCC) October 24 inside the DMACC gymnasium.

 

The Warriors, ranked second in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I poll, won by sets scores of 25-12, 25-19, 25-19 and extended their winning streak to 11 consecutive matches.

 

DMACC was led by freshman Eden Wilson of Conrad who had 10 digs and hit .273 in the match, getting her 10 digs from 22 attacks with four hitting errors. Freshman Zophi Hendricks of Defiance had six digs as the Bears completed the match with an .083 hitting percentage.

 

Sophomore Sara Hansen of Hudson added 20 assists and 10 digs. Freshman Kenya Prescott of Carroll topped DMACC in digs with 12 and also had a pair of ace serves.

 

The DMACC volleyball team closes out the regular season against Ellsworth Community College (ECC) Oct. 26 inside the DMACC gymnasium. The Bears take a 5-3 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) record into the match. ECC is 9-20 overall and 1-7 in the ICCAC. DMACC defeated the Panthers, 3-0, when the two teams met Oct. 7 in the NIACC Tournament at Mason City.
