DMACC's Amber Dilsaver earns volleyball All-American honors

Amber Dilsaver, a sophomore from Fort Madison and a member of the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) volleyball team, has earned All-American honorable mention recognition on the 2019 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II All-American Team.

 

Dilsaver is the first DMACC volleyball player to earn All-American honors since the 2017-18 season when sophomore Lauren Rieck of Ankeny also earned All-American honorable mention honors. Her postseason honors also include being named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) first team and the NJCAA Region XI-A first team.

 

Dilsaver, an all-conference first team selection in 2018, led DMACC to an 18-18 overall record and a 6-3 mark in the ICCAC. She led the conference in kills with 147 and was in the top 10 in blocks with 26. Dilsaver hit .244 for the season, collecting 488 kills from 1,318 attacks with 166 hitting errors. She averaged 3.73 kills per set and finished the season with 80 ace serves, 178 digs and 110 blocks, including 79 block assists. For the season, Dilsaver was fourth in the conference in kills and kills per set and fifth in hitting percentage.

 

The DMACC volleyball season ended with a 3-0 loss to Kirkwood Community College (KCC) in the NCJAA Region XI-A semifinals.
