DMACC's Amber Dilsaver named ICCAC Athlete of the Week

Amber Dilsaver Player of the Week

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) volleyball player Amber Dilsaver the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II volleyball for the week of September 9 to 15.

 

Dilsaver, a sophomore outside hitter from Fort Madison, posted double-digit kills in three matches for the Bears during the week, beginning with 18 kills in a 3-0 loss Iowa Central Community College (ICCC), the 14th-ranked team in the Division II poll from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Dilsaver followed that performance with 11 kills in a 3-0 loss to third-ranked Johnson County Community College (JCCC) and closed out the week with a season-high 20 kills in a 3-1 win against Northeast Oklahoma A&M College.

 

Dilsaver is fourth in the ICCAC in kills per set with a 3.56 average and she has had 11 or more kills in each of the Bears' last six matches.

 

Dilsaver is hitting .249 for the season. Her 146 kills coming have come from 382 total attacks with 51 hitting errors. Dilsaver's season also includes three ace serves, 42 digs and 33 blocks, including 19 block assists.

 

The DMACC volleyball team is 5-6 for the season and 1-1 in the ICCAC. The Bears face Kirkwood Community College (KCC) tonight at Cedar Rapids. The Eagles, ranked eighth in NJCAA Division II, are 11-5 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
