DMACC's Grace Collins and Kayden Spencer compete in 2025 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships
  • Collins is 21st and Spencer places 29th in the women's 5000-meter run
  • Collins finishes in 18th place and Spencer is 26th in the mile run
  • Iowa Western Community College wins national championship

 

Two members of the DMACC women's track & field team, sophomores Grace Collins of Johnston and Kayden Spencer of Boone competed in the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships March 7 and 8 at Lubbock, Texas.

 

Collins and Spencer ran in the women's 5000-meter run on March 7 and in the women's mile run on March 8. Collins finished eighth in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19 minutes, 10.68 seconds and Spencer was 16th in 20:23.32.

 

Collins posted a time of 5:20.14 and finished 18th in the mile run and Spencer was 26th with a time of 5:24.59.

 

Juliana Sakat of Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) won the women's 5000-mter run in 16:56.55 and also took the mile run with a time of 4:49.18.

 

IWCC won the national championship with 114 points. DMACC did not have enough competitors to compete for the team championship.
