The DMACC women's track and field team opened the 2025 spring season in the Jack Jennett Invitational January 17 at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.
DMACC runners competed in two events, the mile run and the 800-meter run with sophomores Abigail Harding of Iowa Falls and Kayden Spencer of Boone leading the Bears. Harding placed fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:34.91 and Spencer finished sixth in the mile, posting a time of 5:37.97.
Sophomores Grace Collins of Johnston and Tori Yunggebauer of Williamsburg and freshman Ava Manning of Des Moines also competed in the meet.
Collins finished sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:35.96 and was seventh in the mile, crossing the finish line in 5:44.88. Spencer was seventh in the 800 with a time of 2:38.79 and Manning finished eighth, turning in a time of 2:41.34. Yunggebauer also ran in the mile and was eighth in 6:26.02.
The DMACC women's track and field team will run in the Cyclone Open Jan. 24 at Ames.
