DMACC's Ashley Michel ties for 38th in 2023 NJCAA Women's National Championship

Ashley Michel, a member of the DMACC women's golf team, tied for 38th in the 2023 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women's National Championship May 9 to 12 at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kan.

 

Michel was the only member of the DMACC women's golf team to qualify for the tournament. She shot rounds of 82, 82, 79, 80 over the par 72 layout for a 72-hole score of 323.

 

Michel was making her second consecutive appearance in the tournament. She finished in a tie for 33rd in 2022.

 

Seminole State-Florida (SSF) won the team championship with a 72-hole score of 1,201 and finished 22 strokes in front of Daytona State College (DSC). SSF's Pearl Phoncharatkun took individual honors with a 296 on rounds of 71, 77, 73 and 75.
