  • Freshman Kaylin Petrak named to all-region third team

Three members of the DMACC women's golf team and head coach Chris Seaboch have earned postseason honors from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

Sophomore Ashley Michel of Nassau, Bahamas, was the top honoree, being named the ICCAC Player of the Year and being named to the all-region first team. Head coach Chris Seaboch was named the ICCAC Coach of the Year and freshmen Meg Thompson of Greene and Kaylin Petrak of Grimes were named to the all-region second- and third-team respectively.

Michel led the Bears to top four finishes in four tournaments this spring and took medalist honors in two events. She also had third-, fifth- and sixth-place finishes in other tournaments, including a sixth in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Plains District Tournament. That finish allowed Mitchel to advance to the NJCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship for the second straight year. The tournament will be played May 9 to 12 at Garden City, Kan.

Seaboch has served as the DMACC women's golf coach since 2017 after serving as an assistant coach for nine years. Seaboch has led two DMACC teams to the NJCAA Women's National Championship and ten women have represented DMACC in national tournaments either as a member of a team or as individuals.

Thompson and Petrak each made major contributions to the performance of the DMACC women's golf team this spring.
