DMACC women's golf team finishes 12th in William Woods Spring Invite

 

The DMACC women's golf team finished 12th in the William Woods Spring Invite March 27 and 28 at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Mo.

 

The Bears shot 365 in their second round to go with a 356 on the first day for a two-day total of 721. Mount Mercy University (MMU) took the team championship with a 36-hole score of 632. Baker University's Mia Tovkach won medalist honors with an eight-over-par 152. Tovkach shot a pair of four-over-par 76s.

 

DMACC was led by sophomore Ashley Michel of Nassau, Bahamas. Michel tied for fifth with a 36-hole score of 157. She shot a 79 on the second day to go with an opening-round 78.

 

Other DMACC results included a 58th-place finish by freshman Meg Thompson of Greene. Freshman Erin Winker of Carroll placed 60th, sophomore Danielle Nolde of Ogallala, Neb., tied for 62nd and freshman Rylee Roberts of Pleasant Hill finished in 77th place.

 

Thompson shot 93 on the second day for a 36-hole score of 182 and Winker turned in a 95 for a two-day score of 190. Nolde posted a 98 to go with an opening 94 and finished at 192. Roberts shot 120 on the second day and was 77th at 247.

 

The DMACC women's golf team will play in the ICCAC Spring Invite April 7 and 8 at the Fort Dodge Country Club in Fort Dodge.
