DMACC's Ashley Michel ties for 33rd in the NJCAA Women's National Championship

DMACC freshman Ashley Michel of Nassau, Bahamas, came away with a tie for 33rd place as the 2022 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women's National Championship concluded May 12 at Mayfair Country Club in Sanford, Fla.

 

Michel, the only member of the DMACC women's golf team to qualify for the tournament, posted rounds of 90, 81, 86 and 77 for a 72-hole total of 334, giving her a tie for 33rd place with three other golfers.

 

Minori Nagano of Seminole State College (SSC) took medalist honors with a 288. She posted scores of 71, 72, 74 and 71 over the par 72 layout. Nagano led SSC to the team national championship with a 72-hole total of 1,198. The Raiders finished 46 strokes ahead of runner-up Daytona State College (DSC).
