DMACC's Alison Schweers ties for 49th; Kylie Nichols finishes 55th in NJCAA Women's National Championship

Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) golfers Alison Schweers and Kylie Nichols came away with a tie for 49th place and a 55th-place finish respectively in the 2019 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women's National Championship May 16 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.

 

Schweers, a sophomore from Carroll, posted an 89 on her final round of the 54-hole tournament for a three-day total of 269 and a tie for 49th place in the individual competition. Nichols, a sophomore from Ogden, turned in a 91, giving her a 54-hole score of 273 and she finished 55th overall.

 

Seminole State College (SSC) won the team championship with a score of 900, finishing 23 strokes ahead of Daytona State College (DSC). SSC's Worapitcha Anndit took medalist honors with a three-under-par 213 after shooting a 71 on her final round. She finished eight strokes ahead of runner-up Kiana Oshiro of Western Texas Community College (WTCC).
