Two members of the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women's golf team, Kylie Nichols and Alison Schweers, have earned Region XI all-region honors.

Nichols, a sophomore from Ogden, was named to the all-region second team and Schweers, a sophomore from Carroll, was named to the third team.

Nichols and Schweers lead the Bears to a third-place finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI Tournament April 19 and 20 and April 26 and 27 at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny. The Bears totaled 1,271 strokes in the tournament to finish behind Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) and Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC).

Nichols posted a 63-hole score of 304, tying for ninth place in the individual competition, and Schweers finished at 307, placing tenth.

Nichols and Schweers will represent DMACC in the NJCAA Women's Golf Championship May 13 to 16 at LPGA International in Daytona, Beach, Fla
