DMACC women's golf team finishes third in Simpson Invite

The DMACC women's golf team came away with a third-place finish in the Simpson Invite April 10th at Indianola.

The Bears completed the 18-hole tournament with 390 strokes, two strokes behind runner-up North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC). Graceland University (GU) took the team championship with a 374 and Bianca Findlay of Southwestern Community College (SWCC) took individual honors with a nine-over-par 80.

 

Sophomore Kylie Nichols of Ogden led DMACC with a 92, tying for seventh place. The Bears got a 98 from freshman Abi Tinlin of Des Moines, a 99 from sophomore Alison Schweers of Carroll and a 101 from sophomore Meghan Matherly of Ankeny. Tinlin tied for 14th place, Schweers tied for 17th and Matherly tied for 21st.

 

The DMACC women's golf team will play in the NCMC Spring Invitational April 12th and 13th at Chillicothe, Mo.
