DMACC Women's Golf Team Wins Southeastern Invitational

Sophomore Kortney Orr of Columbus Junction took medalist honors with a 79 and sophomore Jaime Bellingham of Auckland, New Zealand, added an 82 to lead the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women's golf team to the championship in the Southeastern Invitational September 18 at Burlington.

 

The Bears toured the 18-hole Spirit Hollow course in 351 strokes and came away with a seven-stroke advantage over runner-up Southeastern Community College (SECC). SECC's Morgan Totsch shot an 81 to finish second to Orr in the individual competition and Bellingham grabbed third place.

 

Other DMACC results included a 94 by freshman Allison Schweers of Carroll, a 96 by freshman Kylie Nichols of Ogden and a 99 from freshman Haley Trueg of Muscatine.

 

The DMACC women's golf team will play in the BVU Invitational Sept. 22 and 23 at Storm Lake.
