Lydia Harvey enters her second season as an assistant coach at Des Moines Area Community College.

 

Harvey previously served as an assistant for two season at Highland Community College in Kansas under head coach Jordon O’Brien. At HCC she assisted with on-court coaching, recruiting, fundraising, academic guidance, and the lifting program.

 

Harvey played basketball for two years at Iowa Central Community College from 2012-2014 where she averaged 17.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and ranked ninth in the NJCAA with 77 made three-pointers as a sophomore. Harvey helped ICCC to a NJCAA national tournament appearance her freshman year.

 

During the 2014-2015 season, Harvey attended High Point University. She then continued her basketball career at Valdosta State University in 2015-2016. While at VSU, she averaged 8.6 points, shot 41.8% from three-point range, and finished the season with a 26-6 record.

 

At VSU Harvey earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Management and Psychology. She obtained her Master’s degree in Public Administration during her time as the Athletics Operations Graduate Assistant for Valdosta State University from 2017-2019.

 

Harvey is a graduate of Saint Edmond Catholic High School in Fort Dodge, IA. She is looking forward to returning to central Iowa to continue coaching.
