DMACC's Reanna Hutchinson named ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Women's Basketball

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Reanna Hutchinson the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Women's Basketball for the week of Jan. 22 to 28.

 

Hutchinson, a sophomore from Eau Claire, Wis., is the second member of the DMACC women's basketball team to be honored by the conference this season. Sophomore Jaden Ainley of Clear Lake was honored the week of Nov. 27 to Dec. 3.

 

Hutchinson averaged 24 points, 4.3 rebounds and three assists a game as the Bears went 3-0 during the week. She scored 28 points, grabbed six rebounds and had one assist in an 86-66 win over Northeast (Neb.) Community College (NECC) Jan. 22 inside the DMACC gymnasium. Hutchinson came away with 17 points, three rebounds and six assists in a 70-41 win over Southeastern Community College (SECC) Jan. 24 at Keokuk and totaled 27 points, four rebounds and two assists in a 91-72 win over Ellsworth Community College (ECC) Jan. 27 inside the DMACC gymnasium.

 

Hutchinson has scored 315 points this season and is averaging 15 points and 5.2 rebounds a game. She is shooting 43 percent from the field, having made 122 of 285 field goal attempts. Hutchinson is 52-of-132 from three-point range for 40 percent and has made 18 of 38 free throw attempts for 47 percent.

 

Hutchinson's season also includes 110 rebounds, 69 of which came on the defensive end of the court, 42 assists, 37 steals and 11 blocked shots.

 

The DMACC women's basketball team is 14-7 overall, 10-2 in the ICCAC and ranked 19th in this week's Division II poll from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The Bears face Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) Feb. 3 at Estherville. ILCC is 6-14 overall and 2-9 in the ICCAC. DMACC defeated the Lakers 78-58 when the two teams played Jan. 3 inside the DMACC gymnasium.
