DMACC's Jaden Ainley named ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Women's Basketball
  • Ainley scored a season-high 31 points in a 72-60 win over NIACC
  • Ainley had a career-high 16 rebounds in the win over NIACC
  • Ainley scored 19 points in a win over the St. Ambrose University JV

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Jaden Ainley the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Women's Basketball for the week of November 27 to December 3.

 

Ainley, a sophomore from Clear Lake, is the first member of the DMACC women's basketball team to be honored by the conference this season.

 

Ainley recorded season-highs in points and rebounds with 31 and 16 respectively in DMACC's 72-60 win over North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) on Dec. 2. She came away with 19 points in an 86-70 win over the St. Ambrose University Junior Varsity (SAUJV) on Dec. 3.

 

Ainley made seven of 18 field goal attempts, including 1-of-5 from three point range, and was 16-of-19 from the free throw line in the win over NIACC. She made six of seven field goal attempts, including 2-of-2 from three-point range, and was 5-of-5 from the free throw line in the win over SAUJV.

 

Ainley has scored 196 points and is averaging 19.6 points a game for the Bears, who are 5-5 overall and 1-0 in the ICCAC. She is shooting 39 percent from the field with 61 field goals from 156 attempts. Ainley is 13-of-49 from three-point range for 27 percent and has made 61 of 69 free throw attempts for 88 percent.

 

Ainley's season also includes 67 rebounds, 19 assists and 15 steals.

 

The DMACC women's basketball team is home to Southeastern Community College (SECC) today. Game time is 5:30 p.m. inside the DMACC gymnasium. SECC is 3-5 overall and 0-1 in the ICCAC.
