The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has announced the 75 student-athletes from 30 schools who comprise the 2025 NFCA National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II All-Region Teams.
The list includes six members of the DMACC softball team, four of which were named to the NJCAA Division II Midwest Region First Team and two of which were named to the NJCAA Division II Midwest Region Second Team.
First team honors went to freshmen Kierra Jungers of Fonda, Macee Reilling of Dallas Center, sophomore Breanna Caffery of Bettendorf and freshman Brianna Tigges of Urbandale. Jungers was named to a pitching position, Reilling at third base and Caffery and Tigges to outfield positions.
DMACC freshmen Jacki Baas of Bondurant was named to a second team pitching position and freshman Ella Husak of Polk City was named at second base.
Jungers compiled a 25-2 record and a 1.53 earned run average in her freshman season, starting 28 games and throwing nine complete games, including three no-hitters. She pitched 132 and two-thirds innings, allowing 36 runs, 29 earned runs, on 85 hits. Jungers struck out 215 batters and walked 45. Jungers averaged 11.34 strikeouts per nine innings and allowed .98 hits and walks per inning.
Reilling was one of DMACC's top hitters with a .495 average to go with a .531 on-base percentage and a .872 slugging percentage. She had 97 hits in 196 at-bats and her hits included 33 doubles, a triple and 13 home runs. Reilling drove in 88 runs and scored 68 runs. She led the Bears in doubles, home runs and runs batted in.
Caffery hit .473 with a .552 on-base percentage and a .687 slugging percentage. Her 62 hits from 131 at-bats included 10 doubles, six triples and two home runs. Caffery drove in 32 runs and scored 55 runs. She led the Bears in stolen bases with 54 and was thrown out just once.
Tigges hit .405 with a .497 on-base percentage and a .736 slugging percentage. She had 66 hits in 163 at-bats and her hits included 10 doubles, four triples and 12 home runs. Tigges drove in 49 runs and scored 55 runs.
Baas was 20-2 with a 1.64 earned run average. She started 22 games, pitched eight complete games and earned one save. Baas threw 128 innings, allowing 57 runs, 30 earned runs, on 114 hits. She struck out 117 batters and walked 33. Baas averaged 6.40 strikeouts per seven innings and allowed 1.15 hits and walks per inning.
Husak led the Bears in hitting with a .503 average and finished the season with a .562 on-base percentage and a .553 slugging percentage. She had 99 hits in 197 at-bats and her hits included four doubles and three triples. Husak drove in 35 runs and scored a team-high 88 runs. She was second to Caffery in stolen bases with 51 and was never thrown out attempting to steal a base.
The DMACC softball team completed the 2024-25 spring season with a 56-7 record, setting a new school record for wins in a season. The Bears won the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) regular season championship with a 26-2 record and captured their 11th consecutive regional title and their 11th consecutive district championship. The qualified for the NJCAA Division II Softball World Series for the 11th consecutive season and the 12th time in the past 13 seasons.
DMACC's record over the past seven seasons is 361-59 for a .859 winning percentage. And the Bears have a 13-year record of 643-128 for a .833 winning percentage.
