DMACC, the tournament's No. 4, seed, faced fifth-seeded PLCC in a championship bracket game and dropped an 8-2 decision to the Lady Wolves, the 2023 national champion. The loss sent the Bears to the elimination bracket where seventh-seeded PCC came away with a 9-1 win, ending DMACC's season.
The Bears closed at 56-7, including a 26-2 record in winning the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) regular season championship. The Bears also won the Region 11-B championship and the Northwest Plains District-B title to qualify for the 2025 Division II Softball World Series for the 11th consecutive season and the 12th time in the past 13 years.
PLCC took a 1-0 lead against DMACC in the top of the third inning when Brelie Phillips belted a home run. PLCC answered with three runs in the top of the fourth and closed out the win with a four-run rally in the top of the seventh. Sophomore Hilary Wilson of Solon tallied DMACC's other run, reaching on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the sixth and coming around to score on a single by freshman Erin Ades of Boone.
