The Bears, seeded tenth, dropped a 4-1 decision to second-seeded Louisburg Community College (LCC) in a championship bracket matchup and then defeated ninth-seeded Danville Area Community College (DACC), 2-0, in an elimination game.

Freshman Campbell Kelley of Rock Island, Ill., drove in DMACC's only run in the loss to LCC. The Bears trailed 1-0 after three innings but tied the game with a run in the top of the fourth when freshman Amaya Snyder of Cedar Rapids led off with a double and scored on Kelley's single to right field.

LCC broke the tie with a run in the bottom of the fourth and then scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to get the win.

She allowed four runs on eight hits, struck out four and walked one. Freshman Kinsley Robertson of Tiffin went an inning and two-thirds, allowing one hit and striking out two batters.

Ades and sophomore Kendal Clark of Humboldt hit run-scoring singles in the third to lift the Bears past DACC, 2-0. Freshman Ceara Swanson of Lincoln, Neb., began the rally with a one-out base hit, but was forced at second on an infield grounder by freshman Kelsey Palmer of Cedar Rapids, Palmer moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on Ades' base hit. Ades then stole second and scored on a base hit by Clark.
