DMACC's Courtney Donahue named ICCAC Pitcher of the Week

Donahue pitched the Bears to three victories in the NJCAA Region 11-B Softball Tournament
Donahue pitched 14 innings, struck out 25 batters and allowed three earned runs
Donahue is 15-1 with a 2.36 earned run average this spring

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Courtney Donahue the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Softball for the week of May 1 to 7.

Donahue, a freshman from Marshfield, Wis., is one of six members of the DMACC softball team to be honored by the conference this spring. Sophomore Maddy Kearns of Glenpool, Okla., has been honored twice, the week of May 1 to 7 and the week of April 17 to 23. Sophomore Kendal Clark of Humboldt has been honored three times, the week of April 24 to 30, the week of April 10 to 16 and the week of March 6 go 12. Freshman Madisyn Kelley of Nora Springs was honored the week of May 27 to April 2 and freshman Amaya Snyder of Cedar Rapids was honored the week of March 20 to 26.

Sophomore Sydney Kennedy of Peosta has been honored twice for her pitching performances, the week of April 10 to 16 and the week of March 27 to April 2.

Donahue pitched the Bears to three victories in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11-B Softball Tournament, helping DMACC to its ninth consecutive regional championship. She pitched one inning and struck out two batters in a 5-4 win over Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) on May 5 and allowed three runs on eight hits, struck out 13 and walked one in a 5-3 win over North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) on May 6. Donahue faced ILCC in the tournament's championship game on May 7, allowing two hits and striking out 10 in a 4-0 win.

Donahue is 15-1 with a 2.36 earned run average and one save this season. She has thrown 98 innings, allowing 44 runs on 84 hits. Thirty-three of the 44 runs allowed by Donahue have been earned. Donahue has struck out 126 batters, walked 33 and is averaging seven strikeouts per seven innings.

Donahue is third in the ICCAC in earned run average, fifth in wins and fifth in strikeouts.
