The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Kendal Clark the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II softball for the week of April 11-17.
Clark, a freshman from Humboldt, is being honored by the conference for the first time this season and she is the sixth member of the DMACC softball team to be honored by the conference this season. Freshman Emma Dighton of Boone has been honored three times, the weeks of April 11 to 17, April 4 to 10 and March 12 to 27. Freshman Madison Kearns of Glenpool, Okla., has been honored twice, the weeks of March 7 to 13 and the week of Feb. 14 to 20.
Three DMACC pitchers have been honored for their performances in the circle. Freshman Sydney Kennedy of Peosta was honored the week of April 4 to 10; sophomore Lexi Lander of Onawa was honored the week of March 14 to 20; and sophomore Abby Flanagan of Coggon was honored for the week of Feb. 14 to 20.
Clark batted .650 with 13 hits in 20 at-bats as the Bears swept doubleheaders against Marshalltown Community College (MCC) and Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) during the week. Her 13 hits included two doubles and five home runs, including a grand slam home run. Her slugging percentage during the week was 1.500 and for the season she boasts a 1.169 slugging percentage this season.
Clark ranks second to Dighton in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II in home runs (20) and RBIs (78).
Clark is batting .562 with a .636 on-base percentage to go with her slugging percentage. She has 73 hits in 130 at-bats, including 17 doubles and a triple to go with her 20 home runs. She has scored 64 runs and stolen three bases.
