DMACC softball team sweeps NIACC again, 41-0 and 35-5

DMACC softball team sweeps NIACC again, 41-0 and 35-5

The DMACC softball team swept another doubleheader from North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) April 6 at the DMACC softball diamond. The Bears used a 27-run first inning and a 12-run fourth inning to win the opener, 41-0, and scored 18 runs in the top of the fifth to take the nightcap, 35-5. The wins come on the heels of a doubleheader sweep against NIACC April 4 at Mason City.

Both games were called after five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.

The games were moved from Mason City to the DMACC softball diamond because of inclement weather in northern Iowa and DMACC was the visiting team. DMACC is ranked third in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II poll.
