The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Jordan King the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Men's Cross Country for the week of October 7 to 13.

King, a sophomore from Ogden, is being honored for the first time this fall and he is the third member of the DMACC men's cross country team to be honored by the conference this season. Freshman Eli Page of Vinton was honored twice, the week of Sept. 16 to 22 and the time period of Aug. 22 to Sept. 1 and sophomore Pat Heffernan of Dunlap was honored the week of Sept. 9 to 15.

King led DMACC to the team championship in the Indian Hills Invitational Oct. 11 at Ottumwa, finishing third overall with a time of 25 minutes, 57 seconds on the 8K course. His time was a personal best this season and his third-place finish was the best by an ICCAC Division II runner in the meet.

King has two other top ten finishes in meets this fall. He was sixth in the Bill Buxton Invitational Aug. 30 at Indianola and third in the Trent Smith Invitational Sept. 13 at Mason City.

The DMACC men's cross country team will run in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Championships Oct. 25 at Ottumwa.
