DMACC's Eli Page named ICCAC Athlete of the Week
  • Page led the Bears to a second-place finish in the Grand View Invitational
  • Page was the only community college runner to finish in the top five in the meet
  • Page led four DMACC runners to top 10 finishes

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Eli Page the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Men's Cross Country for the week of September 16 to 22.

 

Page, a freshman from Vinton, is being honored for the second time this season and he is one of two members of the DMACC men's cross country team to earn the award this season. He was also honored the time period of Aug. 22 to Sept. 1 and sophomore Pat Heffernan of Dunlap was honored the week of Sept. 9 to 15.

 

Page was the only community college runner to place in the top five in the Grand View Invitational Sept. 21 at Ankeny. He finished fifth with a time of 27 minutes, 45 seconds over the 8K course as DMACC finished second to Benedictine College in the team race.

 

Page led four DMACC runners to top 10 finishes as the Bears scored 42 points in finishing second.

 

Page has competed in three meets this fall with two fifth place finishes and a tenth. In addition to placing fifth in the Grand View Invitational, Page was fifth in the Bill Buxton Invitational Aug. 30 at Indianola. He finished tenth in the Trent Smith Invitational Sept. 13 as Mason City.

 

The DMACC men's cross country team will run in the Indian Hills Invitational Oct. 11 at Ottumwa.
