DMACC men's cross country team is fourth in Grand View Invitational

 

The DMACC men's cross country team came away with a fourth-place finish in the Grand View Invitational Sept. 23 at Ankeny.

 

William Penn University (WPU) took the team championship with 20 points. Mount Mercy University (MMU) was second with 64 points and Southeastern Community College (SECC) took third with 93 points, one point ahead of DMACC.

 

WPU's Brandon Williams won individual honors with a time of 26 minutes, 41 seconds over the 8K course.

 

Freshman Jordan King of Boone led DMACC with a sixth-place finish in 28:04. Freshman Alejandro Bernal of Sibley was ninth in 28:14 and freshman Will Thompson of West Des Moines finished inside the top 20 at No. 18. His time was 29:17.

 

Rounding out DMACC's performance were freshman Ray Gearhart of Oelwein and freshman Joe Terrones of Marshalltown. Gearhart was 25th in 30:24 and Terrones finished in 36th place with a time of 33:25.

 

DMACC sophomore Jake Hitchcock of Johnston ran unattached and finishes in 29th place. His time was 30:18.

 

The DMACC men's cross country team will run in the Indian Hills Invitational Oct. 13 at Ottumwa.
