DMACC men's track & field team competes in Augustana Meet of Champions

  • Freshman Eli Page finishes 12th in the men's 800-meter run
  • Freshman Zach Stoermer is 16th in the men's 800-meter run
  • Sophomore Pat Heffernan is 25th in the men's 1500-meter run

 

Eight members of the DMACC men's track & field team competed in the Augustana Meet of Champions April 17 and 18 at Rock Island, Ill.

 

The Bears ran in the men's 1500-meter run and the men's 800-meter run. Freshman Eli Page of Vinton led the way in the 800-meter run with a 12th-place finish in 1 minute, 56.70 seconds. Freshman Zach Stoermer of Des Moines was 16th in 1:58.54 and freshmen Hunter Landphair of Adel and sophomore Eli Bergman of Hoffman, Minn., were 60th and 78th respectively. Landphair's time was 2:08.43 and Bergman crossed the finish line in 2:15.49.

 

Sophomore Pat Heffernan of Dunlap led five DMACC runners in the men's 1500-meter run, placing 25th with a time of 4:05.10. Sophomore Jordan King of Ogden, sophomore Will Thompson of Clive, freshman Elijah Blix of Vinton and Landphair were 42nd, 57th, 60th and 77th respectively. King posted a time of 4:09.29, Thompson crossed the finish line in 4:13.62 and Blix turned in a time of 4:14.84. Landphair's time was 4:24.25.

 

The DMACC men's track & field team will compete in the Drake Relays and/or the Kip Janvrin Open April 24 to 26. The Drake relays will be held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines and the Kip Janvrin Open will be contested at Simpson College in Indianola.
