Two members of the DMACC men's track & field team, freshman Zach Stoermer or Des Moines and freshman Eli Page of Vinton, ran in the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships March 7 and 8 at Lubbock, Texas.
Stoermer and Page ran in the men's 1000-meter run on March 7 and in the mile run on March 8. Stoermer finished 12th in the 1000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 2 minutes, 32.31 seconds and Page was 19th in 2:33.91.
Page led the DMACC twosome in the mile, finishing 26th with a time of 4:23.91 and Stoermer was 27th in 4:24.05.
Hamdani Benahmed of South Plains Community College (SPCC) took the 1000-meter run in 2:27.42 and also won the mile with a time of 4:06.91.
SPCC won the team championship with 119.5 points. DMACC did not have enough athletes to compete for the team championship.
