DMACC's Eli Page and Zach Stoermer qualify for NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships
  • Page finished eighth in the 1000-meter run in the Region 11 indoor meet
  • Stoermer finished right behind Page in ninth place
  • DMACC runners also competed in the mile run, the 3000-meter run and the 4x400-meter relay at the Region 11 meet

 

Two members of the DMACC men's track & field team have qualified for the 2025 NJCAA Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships March 7 and 8 at Lubbock, Texas.

 

Freshmen Eli Page of Vinton and Zach Stoermer of Des Moines will run in the men's 1000-meter run at the national meet after finishing eighth and ninth respectively in that event during the 2025 Indoor Track & Field Region 11 Championships Feb. 21 and 22 at Storm Lake. Page finished eighth with a time of 2 minutes, 32.15 seconds and Stoermer was ninth in 2:32.75.

 

DMACC freshman Caden Brown of Muscatine and Hunter Landphair of Adel also ran in the event and finished 15th and 19th respectively. Brown crossed the finish line in 2:50.00 and Landphair's time was 3:26.25.

 

DMACC runners also competed in the mile run, the 3000-meter run and the men's 4x400-meter relay during the Region 11 meet.

 

Sophomore Will Thompson of Clive, Brown and Landphair ran in the mile and finished eighth, ninth and tenth respectively. Thompson posted a time of 4:42.02, Brown turned in a time of 4:43.65 and Landphair's time was 4:43.69.

 

Sophomore Owen Almelien of Greene, freshman Elijah Blix of Vinton and sophomore Jordan King of Ogden ran in the 3000-meter run. Almelien led the DMACC contingent with a fifth-place finish in 9:04.32. Blix posted a time of 9:28.28 and King was timed in 9:34.49.

 

Landphair, Page, Stoermer and Brown ran in the 4x400-meter relay and finished seventh with a time of 3:41.96.
