The DMACC men's golf team came away with a fourth-place finish in the men's section of the Jim Curell Invitational Sept. 27 at Cedar Point Golf Course in Boone.
Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) took the team championship with a four-under-par 284. The Reivers were followed by Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) at 288 and Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) at 295. DMACC was fourth with 304 strokes over the par-72 layout.
Steven Gormley of IWCC took medalist honors with a five-under-par 67.
Sophomore Caleb Ham of Hudson and freshman Luke Linde of Winterset led DMACC with 74s and tied for tenth place in the individual competition. Freshman Zach Wilson of Ames tied for 18th with a 77 and sophomore Lari Hakanen of Kerava, Finland, tied for 23rd after posting a 79.
Freshman Ryan Schmierer of North Liberty rounded out DMACC's performance with an 81, tying for 35th place.
DMACC freshman Ethan Nace of Iowa City competed as an individual and tied for 32nd with an 80.
The DMACC men's golf team will play in the NJCAA Fall Preview today and Oct. 1 at Swan Lake Golf Club in Plymouth, Ind.
