- Freshman Luke Linde leads DMACC with a fourth-place finish
- Freshman Ryan Schmierer ties for 11th place
- Sophomore Caleb Ham ties for 25th place
Freshman Luke Linde of Winterset shot a four-under-par 68 to lead the DMACC men's golf team to a fifth-place finish in the NIACC Fall Invitational Sept. 17 at Highland Park Golf Course in Mason City.
Linde finished fourth in the individual competition as the Bears posted an 18-hole score of 295, eight strokes behind the winning total of 287 by Hawkeye Community College (HCC). Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) finished second with 291 strokes and was followed by Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) at 292 and North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) at 294.
HCC's Kaeden Anderson took medalist honors with a six-under-par 66.
Other DMACC results included an even-par 72 by freshman Ryan Schmierer of North Liberty. Sophomore Caleb Ham of Hudson posted a 76 and freshman Anthony Nicolai of Saint Peter, Minn., shot a 79. Schmierer tied for 11th place, Ham tied for 25th and Nicolai tied for 43rd.
Freshman Zach Wilson of Ames rounded out DMACC's performance with a 94 and finished in 66th place.
The DMACC men's golf team will host the Jim Curell Invitational Sept. 27 at Cedar Point Golf Course in Boone
