Four DMACC men golfers and head coach Chris Seaboch earn postseason honors

Four member of the DMACC men's golf team and head coach Chris Seaboch have earned postseason honors from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

 

Freshman Spencer Clatt of Gilbert was named to the Division II All-Region First Team and second-team honors went to freshman Calvin McNeeley of Pleasant Hill. Freshman Kaleb Allen of West Burlington and sophomore Sam Vertanen of Ames received honorable mention recognition and head coach Chris Seaboch was named the Division II All-Region Coach of the Year.

 

Clatt capped the regular season with a sixth-place finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) North Central District Tournament. His season included winning medalist honors in The Battle of Waterloo. Clatt is averaging 75.22 strokes per 18 holes this season.

 

McNeeley, Allen and Vertanen played key roles in the Bears success this spring. Their season included top five finishes in seven tournaments, including a second in the North Central District Tournament. The Bears won The Battle of Waterloo.

 

Seaboch has served as the head coach of the DMACC men's golf team since 2017. He was an assistant coach for nine years before being named the head coach. Seaboch has recruited and developed three All-Americans and has led the DMACC men's golf team to four straight NJCAA National Championship appearances. The Bears finished seventh in the 2020 national tournament and 21 of his players have competed in the national tournament individually or as members of a team.

 

The DMACC men's golf team will play in the 2023 NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship May 23 to 26 at Plymouth, Ind.
