The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named DMACC's Trevian Carson and Da'Shon Fisher to the NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball All-American teams. Carson, a sophomore from Des Moines was named to the first team and Fisher, a sophomore from Iowa City, earned third-team honors.
Carson and Fisher are the 15th and 16th members of the DMACC men's basketball team
to earn NJCAA All-American honors dating back to 2000. And their selections mark the first time two members of the same DMACC men's basketball team have earned All-American honors in the same season.
Carson scored 505 points and averaged 14.9 points a game. He was the Bears' best field goal shooting, hitting 195 of 337 field goals for 58 percent. Carson was 39-of-100 from three-point range for 39 percent and made 76 of 94 free throw attempts for 81 percent.
Carson led the Bears in rebounding with 265 rebounds and a 7.8 average. His 265 rebounds included 201 defensive rebounds. Carson's season also included 122 assists, 61 steals and 41 blocked shots.
Carson was also named to the Region 11 Division II Men's Basketball Team and was the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Player of the Year.
Fisher was DMACC's top scorer with 564 points and a 16.5 average. He shot 56 percent from the field, hitting 221 of 392 field goal attempts. He was 26-of-90 from three-point range for 29 percent and made 96 of 133 free throw attempts for 72 percent.
Fisher pulled down 171 rebounds, including 132 defensive rebounds, and averaged five rebounds a game. His season also included 51 assists, 49 steals and 24 blocked shots.
Fisher joined Carson on the Region 11 Division II Men's Basketball Team.
With Carson and Fisher leading the way, the DMACC men's basketball tea put together a 29-5 season and won their second consecutive ICCAC regular season championship with a 17-1 record. The Bears qualified for the 2025 NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship for the fourth time in the past five seasons and the ninth time since 2002. DMACC won the national title in 2021, finished third in 2022 and fifth in 2024. The Bears were eliminated from the 2025 tournament with losses in their first two games.
