DMACC men's basketball team outlasts Iowa Western CC, 71-70

Covid-19 freshman (CoFR) Goanar Biliew of Denison scored 16 points to lead the DMACC men's basketball team to a 71-70 win over Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) February 8 at Council Bluffs.

 

Freshman Greg Brown of Omaha, Neb., Jimarius Sneed of Chicago, Ill sophomore Michael Hartford of McKinney, Texas, and freshman James Glenn of Altoona added 12, 11 and 10 points respectively as the Bears, ranked 13th in the most recent Division II poll from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), defeated the Reivers for the second time this season.

 

DMACC shot 40.8 percent in the win, making 25 of 63 field goal attempts. The Bears were 7-of-17 from three-point range and 14-of-26 from the free throw line.

 

Biliew added 13 rebounds and Hartford had eight rebounds apiece, helping DMACC to a 47-44 advantage on the boards. Sophomore Jadan Graves of Syracuse, N.Y., added seven rebounds and joined Glenn for the team lead in assists with four. Brown and Hartford led the Bears in steals with two.

 

The DMACC men's basketball team is home to North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) today. Game time is 7:30 p.m. inside the DMACC gymnasium. NIACC is 18-7
