Biliew's 20 points lifts DMACC men's basketball team past Labette

Covid-19 freshman (CoFR) Goanar Biliew of Denison scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the DMACC men's basketball team to a 100-72 win over Labette Community College (LCC) December 14 inside the DMACC gymnasium.

 

Biliew was 9-of-10 from the field and made both of his free throw attempts as the Bears, ranked 20th in this week's Division II poll from the National Junior College Athletic Association, improved to 9-5 for the season.

 

Sophomore Mike Hartford of McKinney, Texas, and freshman James Glenn of Altoona joined Biliew in double figures with 14 and 10 points respectively.

 

The Bears never trailed in the game, opening up a 56-33 advantage at halftime and coasting to the victory in the second half.

 

DMACC shot 54 percent, hitting 34 of 63 field goal attempts. The Bears were 15-of-32 from three-point range and 17-of-21 from the free throw line.

 

Biliew's six rebounds helped DMACC to a 49-35 advantage on the boards. Covid-19 sophomore (CoSO) Jadan Graves of Syracuse, N.Y., freshman Greg Brown of Omaha, Neb., CoFR Preston Thomas of Princeton, Mo., CoFR Jean Francois of Coral Springs, Fla., and CoFR Jimarius Sneed of Chicago, Ill., had five rebounds apiece.

CoSO Noah Parcher of LaCrosse, Wis., led DMACC in assists with eight and Graves and Brown had five apiece. Glenn topped the Bears in blocked shots with three.

 

The DMACC men's basketball team will play Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) Dec. 18 at Sioux City. Game time is 8 p.m. inside the Tyson Events Center. DMACC is 1-1 in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play. ILCC is 9-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The Lakers are ranked 11th in the NJCAA Division II poll.
