DMACC men's basketball team opens ICCAC play with 74-55 win

Covid-19 sophomore (CoSO) Noah Parcher of LaCrosse, Wis., scored 20 points as the DMACC men's basketball team opened Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play with a 74-55 win over Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) December 1 at Fort Dodge.

 

Freshman Joe Blair of Biella, Italy, and Covid-19 freshman (CoFR) Goanar Biliew of Denison had 11 and 10 points respectively as the Bears improved to 8-3 for the season and 1-0 in the ICCAC.

 

DMACC, ranked 12th in this week's Division II poll from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), led 43-26 at halftime.

 

Parcher was 9-of-13 from the field, including 2-of-3 from three-point range, in helping DMACC to 47 percent shooting in the win. The Bears were 31-of-66 from the field, 8-of-22 from three-point range and 4-of-7 from the free throw line.

 

Blair and Biliew narrowly missed double-doubles with nine rebounds apiece and CoFR Jimarius Sneed of Chicago, Ill., added eight rebounds as DMACC came away with a 52-31 advantage on the boards. CoSO Jadan Graves of Syracuse, N.Y., led the Bears in assists with four and Sneed and freshman James Glenn of Altoona had three assists apiece. Blair led DMACC in steals with three.

The DMACC men's basketball team is idle until Dec. 8 when the Bears face Kirkwood Community College (KCC) at Cedar Rapids. The Eagles are 6-2 and are ranked tenth in NJCAA Division II.
