DMACC men's basketball team rolls past Central JV

Covid-19 sophomore Jadan Graves of Syracuse, N.Y., scored 25 points to lead the DMACC men's basketball team to a 97-56 win over the Central College junior varsity (CCJV) in the Baymont Classic November 20 inside the DMACC gymnasium.

 

Covid-19 freshman Goanar Biliew of Denison and freshman James Glenn of Altoona came away with 10 points apiece as the Bears, ranked fifth in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II poll, improved to 6-2 for the season.

 

DMACC led throughout the game, including 54-33 at halftime.

 

Graves' 25 points came from 10-of-13 from the field, including 5-of-7 from three-point range. DMACC shot 58 percent in the win, hitting 38 of 66 field goal attempts. The Bears were 9-of-23 from three-point range and 12-of-17 from the free throw line.

 

Biliew narrowly missed a double-double with nine rebounds as DMACC came away with a 50-31 advantage on the boards. Freshman Greg Brown of Omaha, Neb., had six rebounds and Graves finished with five. Brown had five assists and CoSO Noah Parcher of LaCrosse, Wis., led DMACC in steals with two. Biliew recorded two blocked shots.

 

The DMACC men's basketball team will play in the Southeastern Classic Nov. 26 and 27 at West Burlington. The Bears will face Lincoln Trail College (LTC) on Nov. 26 and will play Lake Land College (LLC) on Nov. 27. LLC is ranked 16th in NJCAA Division II. LTC is not ranked.
