DMACC's Noah Parcher named ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Men's Basketball

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Noah Parcher the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II men's basketball for the week of November 1 to 7.

 

Parcher, a sophomore member of the DMACC men's basketball team, is the first DMACC men's basketball player to be honored by the conference this season.

 

DMACC, 3-1 and the No. 6 team in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II poll, split a pair of games during the week, defeating Spoon River College in triple overtime and losing to North Central Missouri College (NCMC). Both games were played in the North Central Classic Nov. 5 and 6 at Trenton, Mo.

 

Parcher, who is from LaCrosse, Wis., scored 23 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out six assists as the Bears overcame an 18-0 start to defeat SRC in triple overtime, 100-97. Parcher made seven of 16 field goal attempts and was 9-of-11 from the free throw line.

 

Parcher scored 20 points, came away with three rebounds and handed out five assists in a 78-65 loss to NCMC. He was 8-of-19 from the field and made three of four free throw attempts.

 

Parcher is averaging 19.3 points, three rebounds and 4.7 assists for DMACC this season. He is shooting 47.6 percent from the field, having made 20 of 42 field goal attempts. Parcher is 3-of-11 from three-point range for 27.3 percent and has made 15 of 18 free throw attempts for 83.3 percent. He has nine rebounds, including six defensive rebounds, 14 assists and three steals.

 

Parcher is second in the ICCAC in scoring and is ranked among the conference leaders in free throw shooting.

 

DMACC is coming off a 93-47 win over the Simpson College junior varsity on Nov. 10. The Bears will play in the John Wood Classic Nov. 12 and 13 at Quincy, Ill. They will play Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) on Nov. 12 and will face John Wood Community College (JWCC) on Nov. 13. JWCC is ranked 11th in the NJCAA Division II
