Zac Mishler enters his second season with the Bears as an assistant coach where he will be in charge of the hitters and infielders. In Mishler’s first year with the Bears he helped lead a DMACC offense that slugged themselves to the World Series in 2024. The Bears had a batting average of .370 and had 24 extra base hits in the four games they played in the Region 11 tournament. In the eleven games the Bears played in the post season they had a batting average of .330, had 49 extra base hits and had extra base hits in eight of the eleven games played. In 2024 Zac also saw three of his hitters receive All Region honors. DMACC finished in the top three in conference in doubles, home runs, RBI, walks, stolen bases and hit by pitch and double plays turned. The 2024 team also saw six position players commit to play NCAA Division 1 baseball four players commit to play NCAA Division 2 baseball.
Zac comes to DMACC after spending the previous two years as the head baseball coach at Alderson-Broaddus University. Prior to being the head coach at Alderson-Broaddus University Zac was an assistant coach there for five years where he was in charge of the team’s offense, defense and recruiting efforts. ABU saw thirteen total all conference players, with nine of those being infielders, and one second team all-region player in Mishler’s time with the Battlers. ABU also saw pitcher Randy Dobnak sign professionally with the Minnesota Twins in 2017 while Mishler was there. Dobnak made his MLB debut with the twins in 2019 and was the game wo starter in the playoffs against the New York Yankees in that same season. Prior to his time at ABU, Mishler spent one season at Saint Joseph College where he worked with infielders and hitters.
