Eight members of DMACC baseball team earn all-region honors

 

Eight members of the DMACC baseball team have been named to the 2025 Division II All-Region Baseball Team announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

 

Sophomore Kaden Frommelt of Marion was named to a utility position on the first team and second-team honors went to sophomores Jackson Manning of Keosauqua and Ty Thomson of Council Bluffs and freshman Nick Cox of Polk City. Manning was named to an infield position; Thomson was named to a starting pitcher position and Cox was named to a relief pitcher position.

 

DMACC sophomores Carter Woollums of Johnston and Jaqson Tejada of Marion and freshmen Archer Ogbourne of Carlisle and Andrew Theiss of Clear Lake earned honorable mention recognition. Woollums and Tejada were recognized as starting pitchers, Theiss as a relief pitcher and Ogbourne as an outfielder.

 

Frommelt was one of DMACC's top hitters with a .304 average, a .413 on-base percentage and a .541 slugging percentage. He had 45 hits in 148 at-bats, including 17 doubles and six home runs. Frommelt drove in 34 runs and scored 28 runs.

 

Manning hit .347 with a .456 on-base percentage and a .511 slugging percentage. His 61 hits in 176 at-bats included 14 doubles and five home runs. He drove in 40 runs and scored 43 runs.

 

Thomson compiled a 3-3 record with one save and two complete games. He pitched 43 and a third innings, allowing 17 runs, 14 earned runs, on 22 hits with 77 strikeouts and 20 walks. Thomson averaged 15.99 strikeouts per nine innings and allowed .97 hits and walks per inning.

 

Cox made one start during the season and was 0-3 with four saves. He pitched 21 and a third innings, allowing 22 runs, 15 earned runs, on 24 hits with 17 strikeouts and 12 walks. Cox averaged 7.17 strikeouts per nine innings and allowed 1.69 walks and hits per inning.

 

Woollums made 13 starts during the season and 6-4 with five complete games. He pitched 74 innings, allowing 53 runs, 44 earned runs on 89 hits with 47 strikeouts and 13 walks. Woollums averaged 5.72 strikeouts per nine innings and allowed 1.38 walks and hits per inning.

 

Tejada made 10 starts during the season and was 4-2 with one save and two complete games. His season included a no-hitter in a 1-0 win over Kirkwood Community College (KCC) on April 26 and he allowed just two hits in seven and a third innings of an 8-0 win over Northeast (Neb.) Community College (NECC) in the Region 11 Baseball Tournament May 10 at Carroll. Tejada pitched 53 innings, allowing 37 runs, 25 earned runs, on 41 hits with 53 strikeouts and 29 walks. He averaged nine strikeouts per nine innings and allowed 1.32 walks and hits per inning.

 

Ogbourne hit .272 with a .397 on-base percentage and a .400 slugging percentage. His 53 hits in 195 at-bats included 11 doubles, four triples and two home runs. Ogbourne drove in 28 runs and scored 51 runs. He also led the Bears in stolen bases with 22 from 28 attempts.

 

Theiss was 1-3 with two saves and a 6.55 ERA in 2025. He pitched 34 and a third innings, allowing 27 runs, 25 earned runs, on 22 hits with 28 strikeouts and 25 walks. Theiss averaged 7.34 strikeouts per nine innings and 1.83 walks and hits per inning.

 

The DMACC baseball team closed the 2024-25 season at 25-30 and a 17-16 record in the ICCAC.
