The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Konner Entz the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Baseball for the Week of March 24 to 30.
Entz, a sophomore from West Fargo, N.D., is one of two members of the DMACC baseball team to be honored by the conference this season. Sophomore Jaqson Tejada of Marion was honored for his pitching the week of Jan. 27 to Feb. 2.
Entz pitched the Bears to an 11-1 win over Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) March 24 at the DMACC baseball diamond. He started the game and worked the first six innings, allowing one run on five hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts. He allowed a leadoff home run and then helped keep the Tritons off the scoreboard the remainder of the game.
Entz is 2-0 with a 3.60 earned run average this season. He has pitched 30 innings, allowing 15 runs, including 12 earned runs, on 31 hits. Entz has struck out 38 batters, walked 23 and is averaging 11.40 strikeouts per nine innings.
The DMACC baseball team, 10-17 overall and 4-5 in the ICCAC, is facing Northeast (Neb.) Community College (NECC) today at the DMACC baseball diamond. NECC is 17-14 overall and 4-6 in the ICCAC. The Hawks' losses include a 10-0 defeat to DMACC March 18 at Norfolk, Neb.
