The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Jaqson Tejada the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Baseball (pitching) for the Week of January 27 to February 2.

Tejada, a redshirt sophomore from Marion, is one of two members of the DMACC baseball team to be honored, for the week, joining redshirt sophomore Archer Obgourne of Carlisle.

Tejada pitched two and two-thirds innings and earned the save in the Bears' 11-1 win over Northern Oklahoma College-Enid (NOCE) in the second game of a doubleheader Feb. 1 at Enid, Okla. He entered the game in the fourth inning with the bases loaded and one out. He got out of the jam by retiring the only two batters he faced, including one strikeout. Tejada worked two more innings and struck out four of the six batters he faced. He earned the save after DMACC put together a six-run rally in the top of the fifth inning.

Tejada's line thus far in the young season included two and two-thirds innings pitched and an 0.00 earned run average. He has faced eight batters and recorded five strikeouts.

The DMACC baseball team is idle until Feb. 14 when the Bears face Dallas College North Lake (DCNL) in a doubleheader at Irving, Texas. DMACC face Dallas College Eastfield (DCE) in a doubleheader Feb. 15 at Mesquite, Texas, and will play a single game against DCE on Feb. 16.
