DMACC's Archer Ogbourne named ICCAC Athlete of the Week
  • Ogbourne was 7-for-15 in a four-game series against NOCE
  • Ogbourne's hits included one home run and two doubles
  • Ogbourne drove in five runs and scored three runs in the series

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Association (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Archer Ogbourne the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Baseball for the Week of Jan. 27 to Feb. 2.

 

Ogbourne, a redshirt sophomore from Carlisle, is one of two members of the DMACC baseball team to be honored by the ICCAC. Sophomore Jaqson Tejada of Marion was honored for his pitching performances during the week.

 

Ogbourne had seven hits in 15 at-bats as the DMACC baseball team split a four-game season-opening series against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid Feb. 1 and 2 at Enid, Okla. He had two hits and drove in a run in a 7-3 loss in the first game of a doubleheader on Feb. 1 and had a double and a run scored in an 11-1 win in the second game.

 

Ogbourne had two hits, including a double, drove in a run and scored a run in an 9-3 win in the opener on Feb. 2 and had two hits, including a three-run home run, in a 14-6 loss in the second game.

 

Ogbourne is batting .467 with five runs batted in and three runs scored thus far in the young season. His hits include two doubles and a home run.

 

The DMACC baseball team is idle until Feb. 14 when the Bears face Dallas College North Lake (DCNL) in a doubleheader at Irving, Texas. DMACC face Dallas College Eastfield (DCE) in a doubleheader Feb. 15 at Mesquite, Texas, and will play a single game against DCE on Feb. 16.
