DMACC BASEBALL TEAM DEFEATS MARSHALLTOWN, 5-2
  • Sophomore Gage Franck had three hits for the Bears in the game
  • Sophomore Drew Scherbenske earned his first win of the season by allowing one run in three innings of relief pitching for DMACC
  • Sophomore Zach Hoehn pitches two shutout innings to pick up the save

The DMACC baseball team defeated Marshalltown Community College (MCC) 5-2 on April 18 in a game played at the DMACC baseball diamond.  With the win DMACC is now 18-21 and 7-12 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.  

 

DMACC broke a 2-2 game by scoring in the bottom of the seventh inning and adding two insurance runs in the eighth for the 5-2 win.

 

Sophomore Gage Franck of Marion had three hits and freshman Mitchell Cummins of Chanhassen, MN drove in two runs for the Bears. 

 

Sophomore Drew Scherbenske of Rapid City, SD picked up his first win of the season with three innings of relief pitching, giving up one run in three innings while allowing three hits and no walks.  He also had four strikeouts in the game, as did Zach Hoehn, a sophomore from Waseca, MN, who came in to pitch the final two shutout innings and pick up the save.  

    

The DMACC baseball team will face Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) April 20 in Council Bluffs.  IWCC is 27-7 and 12-7 in the ICCAC.
