The Eagles came away with a 7-2 win behind a five-run ninth inning in the opener and completed the sweep with a 13-0 decision in the second game.

DMACC, which fell to 23-7 overall and 6-2 in the ICCAC, came into the matchup with a No. 9 ranking in the Division II poll from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). KCC, which improved to 22-10 overall and 7-1 in the ICCAC, is ranked 10th in the NJCAA Division II poll.

KCC took a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the third in the opener and DMACC tied the game with a run in the bottom of the inning. The Eagles scored again in the top of the fourth for a 2-1 lead and DMACC tied it with a run in the bottom of the sixth. It stayed that way until the top of the ninth where KCC pulled away behind a five-run rally.

Freshmen Breanna Caffery of Bettendorf and Hilary Wilson of Solon paced DMACC's eight-hit attack with two hits apiece including a solo home run by Wilson. Caffery's one-scoring single scored pinch runner Mary Walker of Fonda for DMACC in the third and Wilson's home run accounted for the Bears' run in the bottom of the sixth.

Sophomore Courtney Donahue of Marshfield, Wis., suffered the loss to fall to 12-2 for the season. She pitched eight innings, allowing six runs on 10 hits with 12 strikeouts and two walks.

KCC took the second game in five innings. The Eagles led 3-0 after the first inning and scored five runs in the top of the third for an 8-0 lead. They closed out the win with four runs in the top of the fourth and a run in the top of the fifth.

DMACC collected just four hits off KCC's Sailor Hall, who improved to 6-3 with the win. Freshman Kyleia Salyars of Muscatine led DMACC with a pair of doubles and Wilson and freshman Mia Trewin of Waukee had one single apiece.

Sophomore Kinsley Robertson of Tiffin fell to 7-3 with the loss. She pitched three innings, allowing eight runs on five hits with three strikeouts and four walks.
