DMACC cross county team finishes 19th in Dan Huston Cross County Invite

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) cross country team came away with a 19th-place finish in the Dan Huston Cross Country Invite Sept. 29 at Waverly.

 

Wartburg College, the host team, won the team championship with 56 points and DMACC scored 577 points in finishing 19th. Ashlyn Bagge of the Wartburg Alumni, won the individual competition, touring the 6K course in 21 minutes. 32 seconds.

 

Freshman Elizabeth Belling of Grimes led DMACC, finishing in 97th place with a time of 27:08. Freshman Sabrina Ure of Panora was 118th in 32:16 and freshman Kianna Lechtenberg of Centerville was 119th in 32:26. Freshmen Saylor Davis of Tripoli and Ashleigh White of Waukee rounded out DMACC's performance with 121st- and 122nd-place finishes respectively. Davis cross the finish line in 34:12 and White's time was 34:36.

 

The DMACC cross country team will run in the Fighting Bee Invitational Oct. 6 at Davenport.
