DMACC Volleyball team falls to KCC in NJCAA Region XI-B championship match, 3-1
  • KCC defeats DMACC for the third time this season

The DMACC volleyball team saw its season come to a disappointing close with a 3-1 loss to Kirkwood Community College (KCC) March 30 in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region Xi-B championship match at Cedar Rapids.

 

The Eagles won by set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 22-25, 25-23 to end DMACC's season at 17-6. Three of the six losses came against KCC.

 

Freshman Anna Niehaus of Carroll led the Bears with 13 kills and freshmen Kylie Welch of Davenport and Emma McKinney of Lytton had 11 and 10 kills respectively. The Bears hit just .154 in the match, getting 47 kills from 188 attacks with 18 hitting errors.

 

Freshman Elizabeth Pierce of Altoona topped DMACC in assists with 24 and freshman Morgan Tupper of Nevada had 17. Freshman Rachel Eddy of Dubuque led the Bears to 107 digs with 29 and Welch, sophomore Jordan Neely of Tiffin and Pierce came away with 18, 17 and 15 respectively. Freshman Abby Maue of Center Point led DMACC in blocks with four block assists.
