DMACC Volleyball Team Falls to MCC-Longview, 3-1

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Metropolitan Community College-Longview (MCCL) September 5 at Lee's Summit, Mo., to fall to 3-4 for the season.

 

MCCL won by set scores of 25-12, 16-25, 25-12, 25-20.

 

Freshman Madison Paulsen of Council Bluffs led DMACC with 13 kills. Sophomore Rachael Bair of Braddyville and freshman Peyton Parker of La Porte City had six kills apiece and sophomore Lauren Rieck of Ankeny and freshmen Brianna Harvey of Dysart came away with five kills apiece.

 

DMACC hit .150 for the match, getting 35 kills from 113 attacks with 18 hitting errors.

 

Sophomore Leigh Paustian of Marshalltown had 33 assists in the loss and freshmen Gill Tupper of Nevada and Madeline Wagner of Carroll contributed two ace serves apiece. Tupper topped the Bears in digs with 14, Bair had nine and Paulsen and Paustian finished with seven and five respectively. Rieck led DMACC in blocks with three and Bair and Harvey had two apiece.

 

The DMACC volleyball team will host the Central College junior varsity today at 6 p.m. inside the DMACC gymnasium.
